Welcome to the Early Playable Demo of "Defend the Signal"

"Defend the Signal" is a Space Invaders-inspired shooter, and this demo is designed to gather early feedback to help shape the future of the game.

Important Note: The game may not launch on all mobile devices. I am actively working on an Android build, so if you’re interested in playing it when it's ready, be sure to follow this page for updates.

Description: In "Defend the Signal," you are the last line of defense, tasked with protecting the power cord from a relentless swarm of drones. These drones emerge from a portal, and your mission is to prevent them from reaching and disrupting the signal, ensuring the system remains operational.

Gameplay:

  • Objective: Stop the enemy drones from reaching the cord. Pick up safe delivery drones for power-ups to aid in your defense.
  • Keyboard Controls:
    • Move left and right using the arrow keys or A/D keys.
    • Shoot using the spacebar.
    • Activate power-ups with the E key.
  • Mobile Controls:
    • Use the on-screen joystick to move left and right.
    • Use the on-screen button to shoot and use power-ups.

Features:

  • Endless Survival Mode: The current game mode is a "last as long as you can" challenge. See how long you can hold off the drone invasion.
  • Simple and Fun Shooting: Focus on shooting at incoming enemy drones.

Power-Up: Collect safe delivery drones to receive various power-ups, enhancing your defensive capabilities.

The new movement update feels pretty crisp and gives a lot more control to the player. A great improvement over the original release. Plus, the added collision accuracy feels spot on. You nailed it on those changes. It's almost a little too easy for my liking now, so maybe there is a hard difficulty on the horizon? ;) Keep up the good work!

One thing I've had a little issue with is when a drone is directly behind a power-up and you can't shoot through it to get the drone. It might be nice if the power-ups didn't block your projectiles.

Thanks for the feedback.

I’ve got some other feedback about it being a little too easy. I’m currently brainstorming a good way to add either a difficulty slider or a way to ramp up the difficulty that isn’t just speeding up the enemies over time.
